Current Reading

Here are some of the books I have read recently and some that I am reading now.

One of the best books I have read recently is D.A. Carson’s book, “A Model of Christian Maturity: An Exposition of 2 Corinthians 10-13”

This book isn’t very long but it packs a very important punch. It’s a powerful study of the way the Apostle Paul defined success in his life and ministry.

I highly recommend this book.

A good book that deals with a number of the arguments from the New Atheists against the character of God is Paul Copan’s book, “Is God a Moral Monster?”  Paul uses History and Hebrew Scholarship to show the context of the passages that are taken out of context and used to attack the character of God.

A book that I have heard a lot of good things about and have just started reading is Eric Metaxas’ book, “Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy.”  I am about  1/4th of the way through it where Bonhoeffer is wrestling with the question: “What is the Church.”  Very interesting so far.

I found a video of the author giving an overview of the book that is very interesting and surprisingly funny.  Here is a link to it: http://www.socratesinthecity.com/video/eric-metaxas-bonhoeffer-pastor-martyr-prophet-spy
